Trips and Nature Hikes
Every Wednesday, we offer a nature hike in the area around Bayreuth under the motto "experience regional culture". Explore the mountains, forests, and lakes of the Fichtelgebirge and the romantic villages, river valleys and caves of the Fränkische Schweiz.

Retrace the steps of the Margraves and discover the dreamlike palace and park with fountains beyond the gates of Bayreuth.
Schloss Fantaisie
An attractive palace park with elements from the rococo era, Age of Sentiment, and historicism. The only German Garden Art Museum is also located here.
Mödlareuth (Little Berlin)
Experience a slice of German history firsthand. The village of Mödlareuth was divided in two by the intra-German border from 1961 to 1989.
The border zone may still be seen today with a museum about this dark chapter of German history - it has to be seen to be believed!

Reichsparteitagsgelände Nürnberg (Nuremberg Rally Grounds)
On this area (encompassing more than 11km²) the rallies of the National Socialist Party took place between 1923 and 1938. The rallies served as huge propaganda performances for Hitler and his regime, in which over a half million people participated. Today there is a Documentation Centre informing us about the time of National Socialism.
Fichtelgebirge
We hike to the Ochsenkopf, the highest mountain of the Fichtel mountain range. Nearby the Fichtel Lake's (Fichtelsee) magical atmosphere invites you to enjoy nature.
Fränkische Schweiz
We hike through the romantic valley of the Pegnitz River at the heart of the Fränkische Schweiz. At the end of the path that takes us by the ruins of a fortress and a cave, we refresh ourselves in an old tavern with typical Franconian specialties.

Burg Rabenstein and Sophienhöhle
A trip through time into the medieval world of knights and a place of prehistoric origin: the Sophienhöhle. This is one of the most beautiful stalactite caves in Germany.
