Weekend Excursions
Every Saturday, we offer a day trip. In August, the destinations are Bamberg, Dresden and Leipzig. In September, we go to Rothenburg and Weimar.
One's eyes are opened in the presence of local knowledge - therefore you are accompanied by our team and experienced tour guides, who show and explain the sights. The trips will be by train or in the summer uni bus and must be paid for individually (between 15 and 25 Euro).

Bamberg
The Bamberg old city, with a history spanning more than 1000 years, has been awarded the title "World Heritage Site." Due to its many churches and canals, Bamberg is also called the "Franconian Rome" or "Little Venice."
Dresden
The world famous art and culture city of Dresden belongs to the World Cultural Heritage. Numerous buildings in the city are from the baroque era. The landmarks of the city are the impressive Semperoper and the "Zwinger". Nowadays, this baroque palace houses a collection of paintings, which lovers of the Renaissance should visit. The city on the Elbe River is also one of the greenest in Europe.

Leipzig
Leipzig is among the liveliest and most dynamic cities in Germany. Whether a city of music, trade fairs or books, Leipzig has been an important centre for centuries.

Rothenburg ob der Tauber
Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a small town located in the Mid-Franconian district of Ansbach. Until 1803, it was an imperial town. Today, Rothenburg with its largely preserved medieval old town is a worldwide tourist attraction. Strolling through the alleys, the marvellous views of the picuresque Tauber Valley, trips to the attractive surrounding area and its regional specialities make for a lasting impression.
Weimar
The city of Weimar is world famous mainly for its cultural legacy.
This little town in Thüringen was at the centre of the "Weimar Classicism" of Wieland, Herder, Goethe und Schiller. It is also the location of the "Bauhaus" Movement and setting for the foundation of the first German republic.
The exploration of the city takes us to the residence and garden house of Goethe, to the world famous Anna Amalia Library, to the house of Schiller, and to the National Theatre.
